Overview

With an estimated 13% growth in international tourist arrivals to Asia totalling 204 million tourists for 2010, Governments are keen to develop their own tourism offerings and are racing to create new compelling destinations which can attract and capture a share of the growing tourism market. The successful openings of the two new Integrated Resorts in Singapore have reinforced the Integrated Resort model as a way to meet governments' tourism promotion agendas, create jobs, develop tourism infrastructure and spur economic growth.

Given the multi-billion dollar investment and close cooperation required to achieve a vision of this scale, careful thought and thorough planning must be wedded to effective action in order to ensure these mini "Cities of Entertainment" are successful.

The 2nd Annual Integrated Resorts conference is a one-stop platform that will encapsulate the cutting edge issues in the design, development, finance, investment, commercialisation, hospitality and leisure elements necessary to the development of successful Integrated Resorts.

Join the 2nd Annual Integrated Resorts conference to learn, network and exchange ideas amongst Government agencies, developers, hospitality and leisure professionals. Catalyse your Integrated Resort developments and make your Integrated Resort a "must visit" destination for all.

Participation at this event will help fulfill some of the requirements for attendance at educational conferences as part of HSMAI’s certification process

Delegates are entitled to claim 12 PDUs by Professional Engineers Board Singapore upon the full attendance of this event

Follow your own agenda with a choice of three streams over two days:

Stream 1 : Design & Innovative Technologies I & II

Taking an Integrated Resort from concept to reality is a difficult challenge but the results can be financially rewarding. In an age of increasing competition, creating a distinct resort concept could mean the difference between a financial success and a white elephant. This stream focuses on the key issues behind design and development of Integrated Resorts covering masterplanning new resorts, future-proofing and reinventing existing ones, the role of concept and theming as differentiators, incorporating new technology and optimising the mix of retail, hospitality and entertainment. Join this stream to hear how other developers have innovated, designed and themed in order to distinguish their Integrated Resorts from the pack to become a must-visit resort.

Stream 2 : Development I & II

Despite the fact that the global financial crisis has passed, obtaining finance to fund Integrated Resorts still remains a challenge for most developers. Given the multi-billion dollar investments required, extensive marketing and feasibility studies remain the basis for ensuring a successful project as is cooperating with governments interested in building on their tourism infrastructure. How best to marry the two will be the subject of discussion in this stream, with a focus on investment policies for IR developments, winning over investor minds and wallets, conducting project feasibility assessments, calculating ROI on the components of IRs and investment opportunities in the region.

Stream 3 : Commercialisation I & II

Assuring the success of Integrated Resorts lies in meeting and exceeding guest expectations. Having met the developmental and financial challenges in getting the resort built, the next step would be determining the offerings that would entice and persuade guests to stay. Integrated Resort developers are realising that partnerships with hospitality and leisure operators are key to creating memorable experiences and to spur return visits. Focusing on the marketing and branding of Integrated Resorts, hospitality’s role in making IRs successful, the inclusion of branded entertainment options, how to leverage on events to generate excitement as well as new innovations in leisure offerings, this stream will enable participants to gain innovative ideas, explore new partnerships in order to achieve the goals of world class entertainment and hospitality.
